2023 CPT Evaluation and Management (E/M) Guidelines for Outpatient Providers

R1’s experts will update you on important code updates and other changes you need to understand

The American Medical Association (AMA) recently released changes to the CPT Evaluation and Management (E/M) guidelines which take effect on January 1, 2023. The recent changes build on the revisions to outpatient E/M codes from 2021 heightening medical decision-making and seeking to reduce the documentation burden on practitioners

This webinar is specifically for Outpatient providers who are already familiar with and utilizing current 2021 Evaluation and   Management guidelines.   While the majority of CPT E/M changes for 2023 mostly affect observation care visits, consultations, emergency room visits, nursing facilities, home, rest home, and domiciliary E/M codes, a few pertinent changes apply to the outpatient setting.

In this new webinar, R1’s panel of experts will cover:

  • Changes to existing prolonged services codes
  • Level of E/M services based on the level of the MDM as defined for each service OR total time for the E/M service performed on the date of the encounter
  • How practitioners should handle both face-to-face and non-face-to-face time
  • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed prolonged services codes
  • And much more!
