Corey serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer. He leads the company’s Legal, Compliance & Ethics, Regulatory, Privacy and Data Protection, Audit, Risk, Business Resiliency, and Sustainability teams and programs.
Corey’s responsibilities include leadership and management of global legal, compliance, regulatory and ethical issues. He and his team monitor, mitigate and educate on risks with a commitment to proactive thought leadership, business partnership, and fostering a workplace culture dedicated to the highest legal and ethical standards. Corey provides executive leadership and counsel for an array of company initiatives, including R1’s AI governance framework and Responsible AI principles and program. Corey also is an active member of and executive committee member on The Conference Board’s Global Business Conduct Council and he serves on the Board of Directors for Encore Community Services, a New York City-based nonprofit organization.
Corey joined R1 in January 2015 and previously served as the company’s Chief Compliance & Risk Officer. During his tenure, Corey also has provided executive leadership for the company’s U.S. Real Estate organization, global COVID response and preparedness taskforce, Workplace of the Future initiatives, and he served as an inaugural member of the company’s Inclusion & Diversity Council.
Prior to joining R1, Corey served as Senior Compliance Officer and Legal Counsel at Advocate Health Care. Before joining Advocate, Corey practiced law in the Washington, D.C. and Chicago offices of Epstein Becker Green, focusing on health care litigation, investigations and compliance. Corey began his legal career as a Trial Attorney handling ERISA litigation for the United States Department of Labor.
Corey completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and attended law school at Washington University in St. Louis.
