Kate Knitter is senior vice president of AR and Denials Management at R1. Since joining the company in 2019, she has been recognized for building and scaling high-performing AR and denial management programs that strengthen financial performance, improve operational discipline and elevate customer delivery across more than 200 health systems. Kate is known for her pragmatic, data-driven style of translating payer behavior and denial trends into actionable workflows. Her experience spans third-party payer reimbursement, healthcare law, operations management, business acquisitions, system analysis and software application development – providing a unique blend of operational leadership and technical fluency. Kate is passionate about leveraging modern tools, analytics, and forward-thinking strategies to redesign denial prevention and AR performance, transforming industry challenges into scalable opportunities for providers. She holds an MBA from Loyola University and a BA in Biology from Goucher College.
