Shelby Lee is a Product Director at R37, R1’s AI Lab, where she leads initiatives in autonomous coding. With over 14 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle leadership, Shelby brings deep operational expertise and a passion for innovation to the intersection of healthcare, data and technology.
Before joining R1, Shelby spent seven years as a revenue cycle consultant at Triage Consulting Group (now part of R1), where she developed tools to improve hospital charge description master (CDM) auditing and coding accuracy. She later managed hospital revenue cycle operations for six years at CommonSpirit Health and UCSF Health, specializing in revenue integrity, charge automation and denials mitigation.
Shelby holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and is both a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and a Certified Outpatient Coder (COC).
